Employment
Hiring
Guardian Helicopters offers competitive salaries and
contract rates to prospective employees. Both contract and
permanent positions are available within the company. New
employees will be hired on a contract basis for a
three-month probationary period.
Our Work
A large part of Guardians domestic work is in support of the
oil and gas industry out of our base in Fort Nelson BC.
Guardian Helicopters is actively involved in bidding on
International contracts. This work may be made available to
all employees.
Safety Management System
Guardian Helicopters has an active "Safety Management
System" in place. All employees will be required to take the
company training and participate actively in the program. By
2008 all operators will be required to have "Safety
Management Systems" in place. Our unique computer based
course is close to 60 slides long and is presented by our
Safety Officer.
Computer Based Training
Guardian Helicopters believes in standardized training for
all employees. A large portion of Guardian Helicopters
training is computer based. Educators have proven that
training with media and graphics exceeds anything read or
verbally delivered. Retention of material increases by up to
300 percent or more!
Type Endorsements for Pilots
Under certain circumstances a pilot may be given an
endorsement upon first hiring. However, typically after the
employees first year of employment and at the Chief Pilots
and Operation Managers discretion, they will be approved for
a type endorsement depending on skill level.
Approved Mountain Courses
Guardian Helicopters out-sources the training of mountain
courses to highly respected and established helicopter
flight training schools. Typically after the first year and
only at the Chief Pilots and Operation Managers discretion
will they be approved for the 25-hour Mountain course the
following year.
Human Factors training for Engineers
"Human Factors" training will be conducted and reviewed on
initial training and update training.
Pilot Decision Making training
Considering that a majority of accidents are caused by poor decision-making, all Guardian Pilots receive in house PDM training every year.
